What goes wrong at 100 MB

At this size the constraint usually stops being the cap and starts being the download. 100 MB is a few seconds on a desk connection and a visible wait on a phone, and for anything intended to be watched rather than archived that matters more than fitting the limit. This is also the first size where the resolution question reverses: instead of asking how far down you have to go, ask whether you need 1080p at all — a screen recording at 720p inside 100 MB has enough bitrate to look genuinely clean for six minutes.
